When it comes to treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ABA therapy is widely recognized for being a highly effective path to behavioral change and growth. Better still, autism behavioral therapy is available almost everywhere. If you’re asking “can I find ABA therapy near me?” rest assured that the answer is yes. For local ABA therapy, Indianapolis options are plentiful. However, finding the right fit for your family is important.
There are a number of types of facilities where an autism therapist can work with your child, and ours offers something just a little bit different. At Mindful and Modern ABA Therapy, Indianapolis boasts its only ABA therapy for autism that is combined with the Montessori method in a Montessori environment. Our warm, calm environment and highly-skilled ABA-certified therapists provide autism behavioral therapy that supports every stage of childhood development.
Does Mindful and Modern Therapies offer multiple ABA Therapy Indianapolis locations?
Mindful and Modern ABA Therapies has multiple locations– in central Indianapolis as well as surrounding areas. Each of our four locations provides the same high-quality care from ABA certified therapists in a nurturing, safe environment. We offer ASD diagnosis testing for young children at all our ABA therapy Indianapolis locations. Once you have a diagnosis, your child can enroll in therapy and begin on a treatment plan in a location close to you.
What is the environment like at your ABA therapy Indianapolis centers?
We provide our ABA therapy in a natural environment, which is not what it sounds like. Rather than a clinical or classroom environment, Natural Environment Teaching (NET) is set in a “real-life” setting that prepares children for life. Our facilities incorporate objects that are familiar to children, such as real dishes and utensils. Natural environments help autistic children to develop “generalization” skills– skills that are easily transferred between different environments. Being able to apply skills in more than one setting is a critical part of helping children learn to function at home, school, and anywhere else.
Using familiar household objects, like child-scale dishes and utensils, we encourage behaviors that help children in their day-to-day life. Small actions such as washing dishes or putting things back where they belong are easily transferable to a home environment. They also help autistic children with the development and practice of fine motor skills. We also offer a garden area where children are able to learn about nature and see where they fit into the picture, both in their immediate surroundings and beyond.

Get started with ABA therapy for Autism in Indianapolis
The first step towards enrolling your child in a program is to take a tour of the Mindful and Modern ABA Therapies facility nearest you to see if our facility is a good fit for your family. If you decide that MMAT is the right place for your child, then you must schedule an assessment with us to get a clinical diagnosis. During the assessment, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst will spend 15-30 minutes working with and observing your child in order to determine whether they have ASD. Once your child has been diagnosed, the process of being approved by your insurance company begins, and once you are approved, you may enroll your child in therapy. Once your child is enrolled, the BCBA will create a treatment plan specific to your child, and they will be paired with an RBT for their treatment.
